Registered Nurses with at least two years of Critical Care RN experience are eligible to receive a $20,000 or $15,000 sign on bonus. Those relocating from more than 50 miles away will also receive up to $20,000 or $15,000 in reimbursable relocation expenses. Your Critical Care RN experience must be within the same specialty area you are hired into. Those entering fellowship programs are not eligible. Accepting the bonus requires a commitment of three or two years.
We are seeking a full time RN for the Interventional Radiology department at Inova Fairfax Hospital.
The Interventional Radiology Department at Fairfax Hospital, the only Level 1 trauma center in Northern VA, is an innovative practice involving multiple modalities to create high functioning teams. Our group of highly skilled clinicians cover Interventional Radiology, Peripheral Vascular, CT (Nursing Sedation Only) & Neuro-Interventional Radiology. We are a primary stroke center that also covers aneurysm coilings, AVM treatment and vertebroplasty. We also offer cutting edge treatment for Uterine Fibroid Embolization, Chemoembolization/ SIRspheres, Endoleak repair, Peripheral Vascular, TIPSS and many additional high end procedures. Interventional Radiology works alongside the OR staff to provide treatment for AAA and AngioVac cases.
Clinical Practice and Case Management-Provides safe and therapeutic care in a holistic and caring way. Incorporates differences into the provision of care. Integrates knowledge, skill and experiences to meet the needs of the patient. Technical Expertise: Assists the physician with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the cath lab with the preparation of the sterile field, selection and preparation of instruments and supplies, manipulation of cardiac catheters, guidewires etc. and injection of contrast media. Administration of medications, including moderate sedation, as directed by the physician. Teamwork: Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others. Has respect for and understanding of other clinical disciplines. Uses an integrated approach toward patient outcomes. Quality/best practice- Uses standards and guidelines for cost-effective care delivery. Incorporates data and information to continuously improve care and practice to enhance outcomes. Professional Development- Ensures improvement in practice settings by assuming responsibility for self development in life long learning. Must successfully complete 100% of assigned yearly clinical competencies. Provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice, serves as a resource, preceptor, and mentor. Leadership skillls demonstrated in decision making and problem solving.
1-3 years of experience in interventional Cardiac Cath Lab or Electrophysiology Lab performing Cardio Invasive Specialist duties. Scrubbing experience preferred. Interventional Radiology experience preferred.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and /or Graduate of an accredited, school of Cardiovascular Technology or radiology Technology or equivalent education and experience.
Registered in one of the following: RCIS, RCES , RTR VI, RTR CV, RTR CI; unless a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
If doesn't possess one of the above registries, must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse
Verbal and written communication skills, and computer skills required. Proficient in English.
