The University of Illinois Cancer Center (UICC) is embarking on a period of reorganization to become one of the nation's leading innovative community-based cancer centers.
UICC is seeking a Director of Administrative Operations, Oncology Clinical Trials Office (DAO-OCTO) to provide executive administrative direction. This is a leadership position in the Center reporting to the Director of Administration. Utilizing a shared decision making model, the DAO-OCTO is responsible for planning, directing, and implementing a comprehensive plan to support the oncology clinical trials at the UI Cancer Center. This includes overseeing the clinical and quality assurance of all OCTO trials.
The DAO-OCTO works with study sponsors and internal partners to meet the contractual needs of the study and patients. The DAO-OCTO will also formulate, implement, and interpret policies specifically related to OCTO regulatory operations in conjunction with Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) guidelines; work with key stakeholders to develop and refine consensus-based Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and streamline processes, assist with IRB protocol development, and establish quality control/quality assurance program, participate in national Clinical Research leadership activities, liaison to other campus clinical trial operations, and supervise Clinical Trials staff.
Minimum qualifications include a Master's degree in nursing, psychology, pharmaceutical science, social sciences or a health related field required, PhD preferred. Must have a minimum of 10 years of clinical research experience with at least 5 years of management, preferably in Oncology. Candidate must have excellent management, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and strategic planning skills and experience with clinical research organizations (CROs). Must have CRC or CCRP certification (ACRP or SoCRA). Clinical research experience with pediatric and young adult patients and knowledge of OnCore software preferred.
