Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, a member of RWJ Barnabas Health is seeking a Senior Vice President for Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer. This represents an outstanding opportunity to join a leadership team that holds notable respect and admiration for nursing care delivery, and shares a deep commitment to the provision of the highest quality patient care.
The Senior Vice President for Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer will be a key member of the senior management team. He/ she will report directly to the CEO of NBIMC for operational and strategic matters and (dotted line) to the Northern Region CNE for professional practice matters. The CNO will develop, communicate and implement the vision for nursing and patient care services at NBIMC. The CNO will lead a Department of Nursing that has approximately 1,200 FTEs and an annual budget of approximately $139 million.
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in nursing as well as a master’s degree and will be eligible for licensure as a professional nurse in the State of New Jersey. He/ she will have a minimum of ten years’ significant nursing leadership experience, with prior experience within a large, complex, urban medical center or teaching hospital environment. Experience gained within a unionized nursing staff environment is a plus, but not required. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of results in patient care services, nursing leadership, and management.
