The Duke University School of Nursing (DUSON) invites applications from doctorally-prepared candidates for the newly created position of Assistant Dean for Clinical Practice Initiatives (AsstD-CIPP). The AsstD-CIPP will provide leadership for DUSON’s vision to provide and promote unparalleled clinical expertise and will be responsible for ensuring that the clinical initiatives of the School are conducted in a creative, efficient, and responsible manner, consistent with state and national rules and regulations that govern clinical practice. A major emphasis of the role includes development and maintenance of strong relationships with Duke University, Duke University Health System, and community practice partners whereby DUSON can lead and participate in the development of innovative models of care delivery, while also creating opportunities for DUSON faculty practice and student education.
The Duke Nursing community includes nearly 90 full-time faculty members, over 120 staff members and approximately 1,000 students. The School offers four-degree programs: ABSN, MSN, DNP and PhD. Well-qualified candidates must be eligible for RN-licensure in North Carolina, have an earned doctoral degree in a health care related field, and should demonstrate strong skills in navigating and creating successful partnerships in complex health care systems. The successful candidate must also demonstrate significant experience (minimum of 5 years) in health care finance, entrepreneurship, developing business plans, experience with nursing practice standards, and regulations for clinical practice and have a record of successful scholarship. The successful candidate will be eligible for a Faculty appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level on Track II (a non-tenure earning practice/clinical track) depending on candidate’s qualifications.
