Clinical Assistant Professor, Family Nurse Practitioner Faculty - 126710
The University of West Florida, School of Nursing in Pensacola, Florida, is seeking candidates for the fulltime position of Assistant Professor for the Family Nurse Practitioner (Position 126710) track of the Master of Science in Nursing. Eligible candidates must be a certified Nurse Practitioner and hold a Ph.D. in Nursing or closely related discipline, or DNP from an accredited institution with a strong commitment to teaching, academic research, and service. The candidate must hold the required ARNP license in Florida and be eligible for practice as a nurse practitioner in the State of Florida.
Preferred qualifications include experience in education at the graduate level, recent hospital or primary or urgent advanced practice care, understanding of curriculum, education, and evaluation. The ability to incorporate high impact education strategies for higher education into course delivery. The candidate should have a strong willingness for collegiality and innovation in teaching and learning.
This faculty member would primarily be responsible for providing education for family nurse practitioner graduate nursing students in the classroom and clinical settings. In addition to being able to provide education for online graduate nursing students, the candidate must be eligible and able to work with students in primary care clinical settings. The candidate should have the ability to travel and evaluate students in preceptor sites. The position responsibilities include use of technology and provision of supervision and direction for students in primary care setting. This faculty member may also teach undergraduate courses in the classroom or online as assigned. This faculty member will also portion out the work day for service and scholarly activities, and perform other duties as assigned. The faculty member will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the university and nursing policies and procedures, as well as any applicable laws.
Compensation is commensurate with education and experience.
