Chicago, IL - Trinity Health is in search for a transformational, innovative, and inspirational Executive Vice President and Regional Chief Nursing Officer (EVP/CNO) for Trinity Health Illinois/Loyola Medicine. The EVP/CNO will be tasked with creating a cohesive nursing vision and strategy, and overseeing the practice of nursing across the region.
The Trinity Health Illinois region consists of Loyola Medicine, comprised of Loyola University Medical Center (LUMC), Gottlieb Memorial Hospital and MacNeal Hospital. Additionally, in January 2019, Palos Community Hospital (Palos) signed a nonbinding letter of intent to join Loyola Medicine. The region is approximately $1.8 billion in net revenue.
Reporting directly to the Regional President and Chief Executive Officer, Shawn Vincent, the EVP/CNO will be a key member of the executive leadership team and will be responsible for alignment of nursing care across the system’s clinical settings through appropriate standardization and the identification and adoption of evidence based clinical guidelines, and consistent management of standards to reduce variation in practice. The EVP/CNO will proactively identify progressive, creative, viable approaches to enhance overall quality and patient satisfaction, fostering an accountable, transparent environment that is supportive of colleagues and fosters their professional development. The EVP/CNO will have responsibility for regional and hospital nursing operations, including regionalized services for Utilization Review/Case Management, Centralized Telemetry, Nursing Professional Practice and Patient Satisfaction. The EVP/CNO will have responsibility for budget and resource allocations, and financial accountability within the region working collaboratively with hospital CNOs, hospital presidents and other members of the regional leadership team.
The successful EVP/CNO will be an experienced nurse executive with a proven record of nursing leadership in progressively responsible positions in large, national or regional systems that are similar in size and complexity to Trinity Health Illinois/Loyola Medicine, both in terms of revenues, number of facilities, bed capacity and market competitiveness. Experience in a Magnet designated environment is a plus. Experience in both an academic and or teaching hospital and community-based setting is preferred. Additionally, experience in performance improvement and care redesign would be a plus. The EVP/CNO who will best succeed is one who is visible, proactive, decisive, an outstanding communicator and one who is able to build relationships across the organization to engage peers in delivering excellence in clinical care.
