The operatorsï¿½ main purpose is to answer and direct calls to their proper destination in a fast, effective and courteous manner. Operators will assist callers with any problem they may incur while attempting to place a call. Will log all long distance calls that are charged to the hospital and placed by hospital employees or medical staff using the operatorï¿½s assistance. Will also beep and page necessary staff when needed. Will log all alarms in proper binder. The PBX operator may also be assigned to greet guests to the facility as needed.
All operators must maintain PBX operating in an orderly manner and take care of all equipment. Operators will be kind, courteous and professional to all callers no matter what the situation.
-High school graduate or equivalent.
-One to three years experience as a switchboard operator preferred. -Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
-Must work well under extreme pressure and have excellent communication skills.
-Bilingual (highly preferred)
