WittKieffer is partnering with The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB Health) based in Galveston, TX in seeking an engaging and dynamic leader for the role of Health System Vice President of Patient Care and Chief Nurse Executive (CNE). The System CNE will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer of the health system, Dr. Tim Harlin.
UTMB Health is a $2.25B, 4 hospital, nationally renowned Academic Health System with over 13,000 team members serving the Galveston and greater Houston area through a full spectrum of care.
The CNE is the top nursing leader within the health system and will support strategic initiatives and provide clinical insight to programs that impact patient care and patient experience across the continuum. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the CNE will be involved in all aspects of the system’s mission. S/he will drive nursing innovation and provide oversight for the clinical, operational and financial practice of nursing across the continuum of care, which includes a robust nursing staff within acute care, extensive ambulatory settings and correctional care entities.
We seek an experienced nurse executive who has demonstrated success in advancing quality, safety, population health and the patient/team experience. The ideal candidate will be masterful in leading through influence and partnering to drive clinical and care delivery transformation. Qualified candidates must have at least 10 years of successful leadership experience in a complex healthcare system. Experience in a magnet designated and/or academic or teaching hospital setting is preferred. A Master's degree in a healthcare or business field is required; A Master's degree in Nursing is preferred (Per ANCC standards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing is required). A current state licensure as a registered nurse with eligibility to obtain a Texas registered nurse license is required. A Doctorate in Nursing Practice and/or health care leadership is strongly preferred.
