The School of Nursing, in the College of Health and Human Sciences at Northern Illinois University, invites applications for an anticipated tenure-track faculty position at the assistant or associate professor level in its nursing program to begin August 2020.
The successful candidate may instruct at either the undergraduate or graduate level or both. The position will teach a diverse student population and may include online course delivery and travel to off-campus locations, as well as research, university and professional service and student advising. The nursing program offers a B.S. in Nursing through pre-licensure and degree-completion programs, an M.S. in Nursing with specializations in Family Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Educator, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). The bachelor’s and master’s program are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
The successful candidate will
Have a doctoral degree in nursing science or a closely related area (applicants who are ABD will be considered if their dissertation will be complete by August 15, 2020),
Be eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse in Illinois,
Those candidates with a PhD, 3 years of clinical or teaching experience in population/community health, pediatrics, medical-surgical, women’s health, mental health or informatics, and a proven ability to conduct research and secure external funding will be given preference.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
