The George Washington School of Nursing invites applications for the Assistant Dean for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program. The Assistant Dean for the BSN Program reports to the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs while serving as a contributing member of the Academic Affairs Leadership Team. The Assistant Dean will assume leadership for overall BSN curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation, assuring quality and adherence to standards and requirements of relevant accreditation and certification bodies, State Boards of Nursing, and other relevant curricular and program standards. This is a full-time (12-month) specialized clinical faculty position operating out of our Virginia Science and Technology Campus in Ashburn. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities include:

• new program (regional, national, international) development, implementation, administration, and evaluation; preparation of accreditation and other relevant program reports; grant writing in support of the Program and School of Nursing; 
• completing Annual Program Assessments per GWU requirements
• mentoring and supporting the RN to BSN Director, Director of Undergraduate Clinical Education and Undergraduate Student Success Coordinator
• student recruitment, admissions, and advisement; collaborating with admissions and student affairs on student recruitment, admissions and advisement
• development of informational webinars and other technology-based venues for information and ongoing program activities;
• teaching courses in her/his area of expertise;
• ensures standardized implementation of ATI resources across the entry level program to prepare graduates for NCLEX-RN
• fostering best practices in didactic and online teaching, test construction, and test analysis
• maintaining an ongoing program of scholarship and dissemination (publications, presentations activities);
• participating in community and academic service activities, as well as in national, university, college-level committees;
• conducting orientation for new BSN faculty and ensuring a mentors is assigned for the first year
• developing BSN course scheduling each academic year
• coordinating teaching assignments each academic year with the Community Chairs, and Assistant Deans of other Academic Programs
• managing BSN program costs through the implementation of the Teaching Workload guidelines, and monitoring adjunct clinical costs
• Oversees the Director of Clinical Education to ensure adequate and appropriate clinical resources are in place for the ABSN Program 
• mentoring and supervision of new and existing faculty on teaching within the BSN Program;
• works with the ASAC committee to review and revise BSN Program Policies, including the GW Bulletin, and the BSN handbook;
• increasing the visibility of the BSN Program through presentations, publications, grants and through academic and professional service;
• and any additional duties that may occur as this position evolves.
