Assistant Professor of Nursing

The Department of Nursing in the College of Natural and Health Sciences at The University of Tampa invites qualified applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning Fall 2021. We welcome candidates with interest and/or experience in mental health, nursing leadership and management, health policy or EBP development. Opportunity in teaching across all programs (traditional BSN, FNP/AGNP MSN and Post-master’s DNP).

The University of Tampa is a medium-sized, comprehensive, residentially based private institution of 9,200 undergraduate and graduate students. The University is ideally situated on a beautiful 110-acre campus next to the Hillsborough River, adjacent to Tampa’s dynamic central business district, which is a growing, vibrant, diverse metropolitan area. The successful candidate is expected to have a commitment to classroom and clinical teaching. A typical teaching load is 12 credit hours in a 14-week semester. Nursing faculty have one-day per week scheduled for clinical practice if desired.

The successful candidate will have:

1. An MSN and doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent preferred) in nursing required.
2. If APRN, national certification in specialty is required.
3. Florida RN or APRN licensure required.
4. Evidence of teaching experience in an academic setting is required.  
5. Two (2) years or more of clinical practice in nursing specialty area.
