The Wound Care Nurse demonstrates initiative and leadership in application of evidenced based practice to the prevention and management of pressure ulcers in all nursing care settings and to evidenced based management of all types of wounds. The Wound Care Nurse collaborates with an interdisciplinary team in the development and implementation of a comprehensive wound care program and in the care planning and treatment of individual veterans. The Wound Care Nurse contributes to nursing practice through participation as a member of the Clinical Nurse Practice Committee, through group and individual teaching, participation in both unit-based and service wide quality assurance and performance improvement activities and by provision of direct nursing care for selected patients. The Wound Care Nurse oversees the service wide pressure ulcer tracking and reporting activities. Required: to obtain wound care certification within two years of employment. Work Schedule: Full time Monday through Friday 7:30am to 4pm Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
