The Registered Nurse position is located James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital - Spinal Cord Injury Unit. The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) is a registered nurse who is accountable directly to the nurse manager of the assigned unit. In collaboration with the nurse manager, the ANM functions as a supervisor and assumes accountability for the operations of the designated unit. This includes the management, supervision, and evaluation of care delivered by nursing and other allied healthcare staff. The Assistant Nurse Manager serves as an assistant with line authority to the unit Nurse Manager in providing leadership, supervision, and direction to nursing staff. Duties include but are not limited to: Performs delegated duties, such as, develops time schedules, completes performance evaluations, and initiates or recommends disciplinary actions. Determines the appropriate delegation of tasks consistent with the nurse's obligation to provide optimal care. Responsible for performance improvement, customer service/patient satisfaction, patient and employee safety, employee relations, standards of care and practice, the work environment, and accreditation and regulatory standards. Assess and analyze problem areas in programs or clinical nursing practice. Takes a leadership role in utilizing problem-solving methodologies to identify and resolve system and/or process problems that impact patient care. Completes regular staffing methodology data collection and entry at the designated time intervals. Provides onsite assistance and collaboration with staff nurses to address clinical care issues and solve problems. Work Schedule: Normal hours are Monday- Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, 8 hour shifts; however, hours may vary depending on workload and patient care needs. Financial Discloser Report: Not required
