The department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH is seeking to hire a seasoned Certified Nurse Midwife, to join its dynamic Nurse Midwifery Service. This position is a full time benefitted position, providing full scope obstetrical and gynecologic services, and requires a minimum of 5 years experience as a CNM.

Inpatient care is provided on the Birthing Pavilion and involves intrapartum and postpartum care to Nurse Midwifery Service patients with low and moderate risk as well as collaboration with physicians in providing care for additional selected patients.

Coverage includes 12 hour shifts on the inpatient unit and 8 hour shifts in clinic and outreach sites. 

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with OBGYN physicians and other CNM and Advanced Practice Provider team members in the outpatient setting to provide evidence based care focused on prenatal and postpartum care, well woman exams, and family planning services.

Responsibilities:

• Provide full scope obstetrical care to women with low and moderate risk obstetrical needs.
• Participate in rotating labor and delivery coverage for Nurse Midwifery Service patients.
• Provide gynecological care in the outpatient setting.
• Collaborate with individual physicians and participate in team meetings and conferences to enhance an interdisciplinary approach to care delivery.
• Structure OBGYN care to include health assessment of patients, a plan of care, the implementation of therapeutic decisions, referrals to specialty services, and relevant follow-up. .
• Provide patient/family education and counseling in the areas of health promotion, maintenance, and disease prevention.
• Serve as a resource for peers, staff, and the community-at-large, acting as a liaison and health care advocate.
• Appointed as Faculty at Geisel School of Medicine, actively participate in the education of medical students, residents, and graduate and post-graduate nursing student.
• Design, implement, or assist with ongoing research activities for the Nurse Midwifery Service or OBGYN Department. 

Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree or equivalent.   

Required Licensure/Certification Skills:

• Certified Nurse Midwife licensed to practice in the State of New Hampshire.
• Certifications must be maintained in accordance with applicable department requirements.
