The Nurse Recruiter, Directorate for Nursing Services, Office of Chief Nurse Executives is a professional registered nurse responsible for assisting with the administration, management, evaluation of the nursing recruitment program (RN's and LPN/LVN's) and for planning, coordinating, and evaluating programs related to nurse recruitment/retention. The Nurse Recruiter executes position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership in the delivery, improvement, and management of the complex RN and LPN/LVN Recruitment Program, including the use of collaborative strategies with Human Resources. The position provides direct access to the Nurse Executives for direct discussion on priorities and supervision for Nursing recruitment. Major Duties and Responsibilities Applies knowledge of applicable standards of practice, accreditation standards, EEO regulations, and effective credentialing practices in recruitment of RN and LPN/LVN nursing staff. Develops, implements, and maintain systems to account for RN/LPN staffing levels and projected needs. Assists Human Resource (HR) in placing local, regional, and national classified advertisements in the appropriate media to recruit qualified candidates for nursing positions. Guides RN's and LPN's in the application and Nurse Professional Standards Board (NPSB) processes to help meet qualification standards at the highest level. Actively supports and assists in planning strategies to facilitate achievement goals for the FHCC and Nursing Service. Actively plans and pursues self-development of knowledge and skills in both clinical and administrative practices and theories. Educates nurse managers on application of FHCC personnel policies and procedures for interviewing and hiring applicants. Expertly prepares/conducts public presentations and communications regarding FHCC nursing. Prepares reports for nursing administration to include, but not limited to: weekly staffing reports annotating current vacancies and annual evaluations of the recruitment program. Demonstrates positive communication skills and behaviors that promote cooperation and team work with internal and external customers. Develops effective relationships with the Nurse Executive, FHCC management, HR, and other health care professionals to enhance the quality of nursing staff selected for appointment. Serves as a consultant at the VISN, facility and/or community level in area of recruitment. Guides/Assists Nurse Manager/Leaders in the selection of qualified applicants. Develops communication and record systems to maintain current information about Service position vacancies and each unit's application qualification requirements. Develops and maintains systems for effective credentialing (in coordination with the VetPro Coordinator) to safeguard quality of patient care. Assists Selecting Officials with competency-based interviews, as requested. Work Schedule: Days, Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
