Designated first-line supervisory authority for assigned nursing personnel. Assumes responsibility and accountability for the operations of the Community Based Outpatient Clinic(s), ensuring that clinic personnel provide timely patient care which complies with generally accepted standards of clinical practice. This includes the authority to accept, amend, or reject the work of direct reports and other assigned clinic personnel in collaboration with their first line supervisor. Planning work to be accomplished by clinic personnel, setting clinic operation priorities and preparing schedules for completion of work Assigning work to clinic personnel based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and the requirements of the assignments, and the capabilities of the personnel. Evaluating the performance of direct reports and providing feedback on performance to the first line supervisor as appropriate. Manages employee leave requests and sick calls as a direct supervisor or through DOA for other services. For other service employees, administrative control falls under the direct supervisor and operational control falls under prevue of clinic manager. Making recommendations and/or offer feedback for appointments, advancements, or reassignments of clinic personnel Hearing and resolving complaints of clinic personnel, including first line supervisors as needed and referring more serious complaints not resolved to higher level supervisors For direct reports, address conduct and performance issues, recommending and/or taking disciplinary action when appropriate Identifying developmental and training needs of clinic personnel or making provisions for such development and training for direct reports and collaborating with other first line supervisors to ensure compliance and role development.
