M Health Fairview Ridges Cancer Clinic has an immediate opening for a Triage Nurse Advisor located on the Ridges Hospital Campus in Burnsville, MN.
0.8 FTE (64 Hours per two week pay period)
M-F, No weekends or holidays
Reports to Burnsville Cancer Center Manager
Hybrid work from home and in clinic
May be transitioned to Cancer Service Line central triage team in the future
The telephone nurses primary responsibility is to independently triage telephone calls from clients. Using the nursing process, the triage nurse facilitates access to the health care system and/or negotiates a satisfactory resolution to the clients concern. The triage nurse is expected to work closely with providers, nurses and other members of the organizations' staff by demonstrating effective communication, teaching, and negotiating skills. The telephone triage nurse is accountable for quality assessment; efficient management of care and client satisfaction, in collaboration with the health-care team and in accordance with the contracts agreed upon with non-Fairview owned entities and clients.
Independently Triage Phone Calls
Acts in the role of patient and family advocate to assist them through the health care system.
Demonstrates knowledge and expertise in triaging callers properly such that all callers receive a timely and appropriate response.
Able to access MSDS software to assist employee with information regarding chemical spills, etc. in both emergent and non-emergent

Associate Degree in Nursing
3-5 Years RN Experience
Current Minnesota RN Licensure
Bachelors Degree in Nursing
Oncology experience, inpatient or outpatient setting
ONC certified or ability to get ONC certification in the next 1-2 years based off FTE.
