This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Learn more The Tele-Dermatology Registered Nurse (TD RN) at the Palo Alto and Livermore Divisions of the VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS) will be the primary nurse supporting the Tele-Dermatology program. Some specific duties include maintaining a database of all Tele-Dermatology consults, sending secure emails to patients to obtain clinical images, uploading images to the medical record of patients, calling patients back with consult results, setting up virtual and in person appointments, and providing counseling and education to patients. The Tele-Dermatology RN is clinically and administratively responsible to the Nurse Manager, Ambulatory Care Specialty, and Dermatology Clinics at the Livermore Division Telework Eligibility: (This is not at virtual position for the assigned duty/report to location is at the Livermore VA Campus. Utilizes appropriate internal and external resources to the telephone encounter, report unusual occurrences and adverse events, integrate, and apply pertinent aspects of governing initiatives, directives, memorandums, and clinical practice guidelines to their professional nursing practice. Considers recommended dispositions and interventions from clinical decision support tools to assess and address the clinical needs of patients. Assesses situational elements to gain understanding and maintain awareness to support team functioning and improve care at the workgroup/unit level. Ability to multi-task in a timely manner using all technology embedded support systems while performing duties of triage and safe disposition of patient care. Demonstrates strong communication, decision making and assessment skills. Documents patient encounters in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Competent in PC skills using Microsoft Word document, TEAMS and Microsoft Outlook mail systems with analog training for VA-based software programs and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
