The Mental Health Service RN promotes wellness, stabilization, medication education, and coping skills. The RN is a team member who triages Veterans presenting to "walk-in" clinic. RN supports prescribing staff. RN engages in process improvement projects to improve services. Veterans served present with a range of mental health difficulties and psychosocial stressors. RN may be assigned responsibilities and duties based on education, experience, and competency in various outpatient settings. Member of the Same Day Access Team (SDAT). Assist in development of clinical processes and procedures to implement the Mental Health Initiatives and Uniform services Package. Assist in the clinical procedures to meet performance e measures and monitors in mental health. Collaborate with medical clerks to ensure the delivery of mental health services. Assist in the development of clinical tools and assessment procedures in the Mental Health Clinic. Collaborate with the Chief, Mental Health Service to develop and implement policies and procedures for the delivery of quality mental health services. Coordinate services with the Suicide Prevention Program. Coordinate clinical services with Emergency Department, Primary Care and Surgical Services.
