The Mental Health Treatment Coordinator Registered Nurse provides care and counseling of persons while promoting the maintenance of health and prevention of illness and injury based on systematic data gathering, assessment, appropriate nursing judgement and evaluation of human response to actual or potential health problems. He/she provides services such as case finding, health teaching, health counseling, and provision of care supportive to restorative life and well-being. ·Provides age-appropriate, culturally, ethnically, and spiritually sensitive physical and mental care and support. ·Adopts a lifespan perspective that appreciates the meaning and impact of ageism, poverty, and disability. ·Educates patients and families about chronic illness and mental health care and treatment options. ·Assist in coordination of care among caregivers. ·Maintain Prevention and Management of Disruptive Behavior (PMDB) training levels I through III. ·Triage and assess patients and identified the need to seek and consult additional resources (medical, mental health, emergency department, dental, etc.), in addition to assisting in the coordination of care across multiple disciplines. ·Responsible for medication administration, medication management, progressive medication level management. ·Responsible for developing and maintaining care plans in the mental health suite.
