BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB

- This position performs tasks which involve specified nursing care for patients delegated by and performed under the direction of the Clinical Director.

If applying for Certified Medical Assistant:

Minimum Education
- High School/GED Required.
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant preferred.
Minimum Work Experience
- CMA certified and 1 year of experience preferred or greater than 2A years urgent care experience without certification acceptable.
Required Licenses/Certifications for position
- No
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Effective communication skills, ability to meet the demands of an active position.
- Successful completion of a medication administration skills test with a passing score of above 80%

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Note: Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
Medium lifting, pushing and pulling is required for 20-50 pounds occasionally, 10-20 lbs frequently and 10 lbs constantly to move objects of up to 150 lbs. Sudden emergency situations have the potential for exposure to lifting or moving of up to 100 lbs. Frequent bending, walking, sitting, squatting, reaching and standing are required. Keyboard/computer use and/or repetitive motions may be required.

East Tennessee Children's Hospital is a 152-bed hospital certified by the state of Tennessee as the only Comprehensive Regional Pediatric Center in East Tennessee and is accredited by the Joint Commission. As a Comprehensive Regional Pediatric Center, Children's Hospital offers full capabilities to care for seriously ill children in a unique pediatric environment and offers the services of many different pediatric subspecialties. Children's Hospital works jointly with the University of Tennessee Medical Center to ensure that injured children in this region receive trauma care at the institution most appropriate for the child's needs. We also assist smaller hospitals by providing pediatric health care training opportunities.
