The role you’ll contribute:
Responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care for step down patients, post cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology studies, peripheral studies/interventions, and cardiac device implants, based on established clinical nursing practice standards as specified by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses Cardiac Recovery Registered Nurses. Care includes monitoring LOC and vital signs (NIBP, HR, O2 Sat, and Respirations) of patients recovering from moderate sedation. Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation according to established protocols and evidence – based clinical practice standards. CRU and CSDU Registered nurses remove arterial and venous sheaths holding manual or mechanical pressure to ensure hemostasis. Post sheath pull patient arteriotomy sites are monitored for hematoma. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Supports the organization vision and mission. Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through the performance improvement techniques that demonstrates positive outcomes in patient care. Cardiac Recovery Registered Nurses require a high degree of knowledge in anatomy of the heart, circulatory, and neuro system in a critical care environment.

- Provides patient care using the nursing process to provide assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation according to established protocols and evidence-based clinical practice standards
- Removal of venous and arterial sheaths using manual or mechanical pressure to ensure hemostasis
- Monitors site post sheath removal sites for hematoma
- Provides education to patient and patient’s family regarding in-hospital care and discharge instructions
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
- Recent acute care experience.
- Graduate of accredited school of Nursing.
- Associates Degree
- Current Florida licensure as a Registered Nurse
- ACLS & BLS
