Provides health assessment, health promotion, and treatment to new and current employees within established protocols in association with the Employee Health Leader and Medical Director. Acts as a resource to individuals & leaders about mental & physical health as it relates to hospital policy fitness for duty and government regulations.
Minimum Job Requirements
CPR: Healthcare Provider
2+ years of APRN experience in primary care or convenience care.
Current licensed as an APRN in Florida as an adult or family Advanced Practice Registered Nurse .
Level II finger printing background required
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
In collaboration with the Physician & employee health leader, evaluates, diagnoses, prescribes & refers for common urgent & non-urgent complaints within the convenience care and WC programs
Diagnoses and refers patients within the fitness for duty program.
In collaboration with the Physician & employee health leader, performs pre-placement screenings of candidates for employment including assistance with ADA accommodations & urine drug screens.
Acts as a resource person for new and current employees providing health promotion, education and emotional support and referrals.
Documents all evaluations, testing, medications and lab testing in an electronic or paper record per department policy.
Assists in the development of wellness initiatives and provide screening to support the wellness program.
Obtains laboratory specimens by phlebotomy and processes per hospital policy.
Assists in the follow-up of employees exposed to blood borne pathogens providing counseling, testing and referrals as necessary.
Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, and cost in planning and delivering patient care, promoting optimal patient outcomes.
Provides individual patient counseling & treatment in response to health issues. Engages in an interactive process to provide ADA/FMLA counseling in collaboration with the TM&E Leaders.
Assists the Workers, Compensation Coordinator in the processing of work-related injuries. Provides telephone consultation during off-duty hours for Leaders related to employee injuries.
In collaboration with the Leader of Employee Health Services, provides daily oversight of the work of Health Office support staff.
Contributes to performance improvement projects and assists in the preparation of reports as directed by the Leader of Employee Health Services.
Experience in occupational health is highly recommended.
Knowledge of ADA, Workers Comp, FMLA Regulations and OSHA desirable.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Ability to problem solves to formulate a plan of care and evaluate the patient's response to care.
Ability to interpret, adapt and react calmly under stressful conditions.
