Job Summary
Provides day-to-day supervision of lab personnel ensuring the proper performance of all laboratory procedures. Responsible for the implementation and management of regulations and guidelines compliant with regulatory agencies. Serves to assist the research staff n various research endeavors including personnel training, management, and oversight of project laboratory milestones and goals.
Job Duties
- Supervises laboratory technicians managing laboratory workload, assigning tasks , evaluating performance , interviewing, selecting and training of employees, handling employee complaints and grievances and disciplining when necessary.
- Serves as the laboratory liaison for any other laboratories or study teams who wish to collaborate or use the laboratory services.
- Ensures timely and accurate completion of laboratory tasks and milestones.
- Consistently monitors and tracks efficiency and accuracy of the laboratory procedures.
- Performs technical duties and provides technical knowledge and support to staff.
- Develops study specific training tools and procedures to orient new laboratory staff.
- Assists in developing, implementing, and maintaining laboratory procedures and policies for sample processing, testing, and analysis.
