RN Registered Nurse – 7 East - Neuro/Trauma/Stroke - Penn State Health Holy Spirit

7 East is a fast paced 25 bed, progressive care telemetry/stroke/trauma unit, serving the adult population with multiple comorbidities along with acute cardiac, neurologic, neurosurgical and trauma related diagnosis. We are the only non-ICU unit in the hospital with the capability of caring for patients with stroke like signs/symptoms. Staff are trained to care for patients with complex IV drips requiring constant telemetry monitoring, assessing stroke patients using the NIH stroke scale (our unit has helped Penn State Health Holy Spirit become a Gold plus elite honor roll stroke center), and caring for multiple system trauma patients.
The RN Registered Nurse assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients. May advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Currently licensed to practice as a registered nurse by State of employmentÂ
AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
