Ready to join our OB family? Advent Health Celebration OB Team is a premier destination for obstetrical care. AH Celebration is a Magnet Recognized campus for nursing excellence. Just 28 miles south of Orlando, Celebration was designed as a Mediterranean resort-style facility to serve as a cornerstone of health in Disney’s planned community of Celebration, Florida.
The Labor and Delivery Unit provides Level II Maternity Care for approximately 3,375+ births per year (281+ babies per month). The unit consists of 6 OB Triage rooms, 10 labor rooms, 2 OB ORs and 2 PACU beds. The adjacent units are a 10 bed Level II NICU, a 24 bed Mother Baby Unit and a 13 bed overflow MIU/GYN unit.
The Mother Infant Unit provides Level II Maternity Care for approximately 3,375+ births per year (281+ babies per month). The unit consists of a 24 bed Mother Baby Unit. There is also a 13 bed overflow GYN/MIU unit available as needed. The adjacent units are a 10 bed NICU, 16 bed Labor and Delivery Unit (6 OB triage, 9 labor rooms). The mother baby team provides couplet care for our moms and babies as well as cares for our GYN post-operative patients during their recovery.
Our NICU is a 10 bed Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. AH Celebration delivers approximately 3,375+ births per year (281+ babies per month). The adjacent units are a 16 bed Labor and Delivery unit (6 OB triage, 10 labor rooms), a 24 bed Mother Infant Unit and a 13 bed overflow MIU/GYN unit.
The multidisciplinary OB team is supported 24/7 by on unit OB Hospitalists, Neonatologists/Pediatric Hospitalists and Anesthesiology.
The OB team has received the AACN BEACON Award for Excellence recognizing top achievement in quality outcomes, patient experience and team engagement.
AH Celebration is a Baby Friendly designated campus.
Advent Health for Women is a key part of the Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative’s PROVIDE initiative (reducing primary c-sections) and MORE (reducing maternal opioids). Our team is able to provide virtual classes and tours with our patients and individualized care with our Birth Experience team.
Other highlights include the Professional Excellence Program, Perinatal Nurse Internship Program, active Unit Practice Council, and our Multidisciplinary Obstetrical Simulation Training.

You Will Be Responsible For:

Qualifications
What You Will Need:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) required at time of hire/promotion
Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) required as of January 1, 2016, if hired prior to October 14, 2012
Minimum two years progressive management experience
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) highly preferred until December 31, 2015
Master’s degree in related field
Minimum of five years experience in nursing with two years’ experience in leadership roles in a comparable health care entity
Experience in the clinical setting related to area(s) of specialty
LICENSURE OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
Current valid State of Florida or multi state license as a Registered Nurse
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:
National certification in nursing specialty
Job Summary:
The Director of Nursing is a registered professional nurse with comprehensive responsibility for the assessment, problem identification, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and coordination of all processes which impact the quality and quantity of care delivered to the patients of specific age groups identified by the standards of care. The Director of Nursing assures evaluation of outcomes that promote high quality practice delivery in assigned patient areas. The Director of Nursing provides leadership in the delivery of care and nursing practice both in the clinical unit and the organization. The Director of Nursing interacts with staff, and contributes to the professional development of the leadership team in her areas of responsibility, leadership peers, and other colleagues. The Director of Nursing collaborates as needed with all levels of nursing staff, interdisciplinary teams, executive leaders, and other stakeholders in relation to the delivery of quality care. The Director of Nursing acts as an advocate for the protections and rights of individuals, families, communities, populations, healthcare providers, nursing, other professions, institutions, and organizations, especially related to health and safety. The Director of Nursing accepts organizational accountability for services provided to recipients in their assigned areas and participates in planning the success of patient experience and outstanding customer service activities. The Director of Nursing promotes a learning environment that is open, respectful, and promotes the sharing of expertise to promote the benefits of health outcomes. The Director of Nursing develops both unit activities that support the elements of extending excellence. Is knowledge of and adheres to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan, the ANA Code of Ethics, the ANA Scope and Standard for Nursing Practice, State Board of Nursing Practice Act, the AONE Nurse Executive Competencies, and the rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.
