The Georgetown University School of Nursing (GUSON) seeks tenure eligible faculty for a 12-month full-time campus based nursing faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor and shares a commitment to the mission, vision and core values of the greater university and the GUSON.

The workload allocation consists of 50% effort dedicated to research, 40% teaching, and 10% service. Faculty responsibilities also include service to the University, including contributing to related graduate program instruction, advising students in research, serving on assigned committees, and engaging in scholarly activities.
The successful candidate will demonstrate support for diversity, equity, inclusiveness and antiracism as well as participate in maintaining a respectful, positive work environment at GUSON.
Responsibilities of the Position:
Contribute to the advancement of nursing science through a well-developed area of research and scholarship
Teach and advise graduate and/or undergraduate students, and participate in the development and evaluation of nursing curricula
Engage in community and professional service associated with their area of expertise
Participate in GUSON governance activities
This position reports to the PhD Program Director.
Requirements
Earned Doctorate (PhD or equivalent) in Nursing or other related field
Hold a master’s degree in nursing if the terminal degree is not in nursing.
Eligibility for RN licensure in the District of Columbia (DC)
Ability to meet criteria for appointment as a professor or associate professor with tenure at GUSON (see Georgetown University, SON APT guidelines)
Research
Have an active body of scholarship and research consistent with tenure track expectations for the eligible rank
Have an active program of externally funded research as a principal investigator (e.g., foundation, NIH, HRSA)
Demonstrated record of peer reviewed publications commensurate with rank
Experience in developing successful research programs and research teams
Teaching Experience
Teaching experience with positive, supporting evaluation data and evidence of well-developed areas of expertise
Experienced in teaching and advising graduate students, including serving on dissertation committees
Have experience teaching in a campus based and hybrid educational formats
