Shift: Nights, 7p-7a
Location:AdventHealth Hospice Inpatient Unit Kissimmerequires going to our Orlando or Altamonte Spring's locations. You must be able to cover Orlando and Altamonte when census requires.

The role you’ll contribute:
The IPU LPN is responsible for identifying patient/family/caregiver needs and providing skilled nursing and supportive care to patients in residence at the Hospice of the Comforter Inpatient Unit in accordance with the plan of care, and policies and procedures.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Provides patient care in a home like setting in the IPU.
1 Provides skilled nursing care to an assigned group of patients in the Inpatient Unit and applies palliative nursing principles and techniques in the treatment of patients.
2 Ensures that patient is as comfortable as possible and provides nursing care, emotional support and education to the patient/family/caregiver.
3 Assesses patient condition and reports change to RN. Administers medications to patients within the patient care plan and physician’s plan of treatment in compliances with the Florida Nurses Practices Act.
4 Answers patient’s call bell in a timely manner.
5 Orders medications for assigned patients.
Qualifications

A. Education and Training: Graduation from an accredited nursing school program is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted at the discretion of the Administrator.
B. Experience: A minimum of 3 years nursing experience in a Hospital, Inpatient Unit or nursing facility environment is required. Hospice experience is preferred.
C. Certificates and Licenses Required: A clear/active Florida LPN License, Basic Life Support (BLS) and IV certification are required. Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse (CHPN) certification, preferred.
