Summary: In this role you will be responsible and accountable in the delivery of direct and indirect patient care. Promotes and maintains adaptive responses in individuals and groups with consideration of the integrated nature of person, individual value systems, and cultural differences.

Clinical advancement opportunities exist within the Medical Center. All nurses are expected to competently practice as Registered Nurse following orientation; interested individuals may elect to exceed basic competency by developing greater expertise and participating in professional endeavors within the Medical Center.
These individuals may be recognized and promoted through the clinical advancement program. Performance and practice criteria are located in the position appraisals. The RN must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served in his/her department.

PRIMARY (ESSENTIAL) DUTIES
Requires ability to make decisions and judgments based on knowledge and experience. Requires cognitive ability to interpret, analyze, and integrate data to assess, plan, and prescribe care and to evaluate patient responses and outcomes.
Delivers and/or coordinates the delivery of patient care by using the nursing process of assessment, expected outcome identification, intervention, and evaluation of care.
Participates in patient/family education and discharge planning activities and assures family involvement.
Participates in QA/QI activities; integrates quality improvement concepts into nursing practice
Qualifications
Prior experience as a Anesthesia Nurse is HIGHLY recommended
Possess licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Alabama.
Will be expected to adhere to practice limitations as defined by the Alabama Board of Nursing and Vaughan Regional Medical Center.
